Sensex, Nifty Fluctuate In Early Trade

Indian shares fluctuated in early trade ahead of U.S. reciprocal tariff announcements on its trading partners. The S&P/BSE Sensex was up 40 points at 77,455, while the NSE Nifty index was down 4 points at 23,515. Pharma and IT stocks traded weak, with Sun Pharma, Lupin, Infosys, TCS, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, and LTIMindtree falling. Private sector banks like HDFC Bank and Axis Bank also fell. IndusInd Bank surged nearly 5 percent, while Power Grid, Zomato, and Airtel rose around 2 percent. Vodafone Idea soared 10 percent after a government announcement, and Indus Towers surged over 7 percent. Hindustan Aeronautics rallied 3.1 percent after receiving new defense orders worth Rs. 62,700 crores, and BSE rose about 1 percent after announcing a 2:1 bonus issue.
