Skanska secures a Skr580m contract with Landskrona to build a football stadium and swim centre in Sweden, part of the Karlslund recreation area development. The stadium will seat 6,800 spectators under a roof, while the swim centre will feature a 50m and 25m pool. Construction begins in August 2025.
The football arena is expected to be completed in 2027, with the swim centre following in 2028. Skanska, a construction company with revenues of Skr177bn in 2024, operates in the Nordics, Europe, and the US. Recently, they also secured a Skr990m contract for foundational and quay construction for the Beccs Stockholm facility, a carbon capture and storage project.
In addition to these projects, Skanska has agreed to renovate and expand the Eastern Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden, with the Västra Götaland region. The project involves remodelling two levels of the existing central clinic and adding a new five-storey building. Construction for all projects is expected to commence immediately.
