Hyundai and Posco partnering to build U.S. steel plant, part of Hyundai's $21 billion U.S. investment

Hyundai Motor Group has signed an MoU with Posco Holdings for cooperation on a planned U.S. steel plant. Posco will invest in Hyundai’s Louisiana project, with production set to start in 2029. Hyundai announced a $21 billion investment in the U.S. last month, with plans for a 2.7 million tonne capacity steel plant. Tariffs on South Korea were recently suspended by Trump.
