Australian gold company Spartan Resources has acquired the remaining 20% interest in four exploration tenements at its Dalgaranga gold project in WA. The company will pay A$2.5m to own 100% of the tenements and dissolve two joint ventures. The project has seen a shift to high-grade gold exploration, with recent discoveries enhancing its potential.
The Dalgaranga gold project, located in WA, has been marked by the discovery of high-grade gold deposits, including Never Never and Pepper, with a total mineral resource estimate of 2.32 million ounces. The recent discovery of the Freak Prospect near existing infrastructure further enhances the project’s value.
Spartan Resources executive chairman Simon Lawson expressed pleasure in consolidating ownership of the Dalgaranga project. The move to 100% ownership will provide operational flexibility as the company progresses with a re-start decision at Dalgaranga, focusing on the high-grade Never Never and Pepper underground deposits. Future exploration programs will target additional prospective mineralisation.
Spartan Resources is set to be acquired by Ramelius Resources in a deal valuing the company at approximately A$2.4bn. The acquisition of the Dalgaranga exploration tenements simplifies the business model as the company moves forward with the transaction with Ramelius. This consolidation is part of Spartan’s strategy to enhance operational efficiency and unlock the project’s full potential.
