Stocks open lower on Wall Street due to uncertainty over tariffs and Fed decisions

U.S. stocks, bonds, and the dollar struggled on Wall Street’s return from the holiday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 440 points, or 1.1%. The S&P 500 fell 1.3% and the Nasdaq Composite was down 1.6%. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note rose to 4.38% and the 30-year yield increased to 4.88%.
