In the first quarter of 2025, Tesla delivered 336,681 cars worldwide, missing analysts’ expectations. This was attributed to retooling factories for a new Model Y SUV. XPeng delivered 33,205 units in March, surging 268% year over year and entering the Indonesian market to expand its global footprint.
Tesla’s energy storage business saw a 156% year-over-year increase in the first quarter of 2025. Rivian reaffirmed its 2025 delivery target of 46,000 to 51,000 vehicles and is set to launch the R2 to compete with top-selling models. NIO’s strong vehicle lineup is aiding its deliveries growth, while Li Auto is expanding its supercharging network.
XPeng is ramping up efforts to expand globally as part of its “go-global 2.0 strategy.” By the end of 2024, it was present in 30 countries and regions and aims to reach 60 by 2025. Li Auto aims to build more than 1,200 supercharging stations along highways by the end of 2025.
