Energy stocks are up, with APA Corp and Diamondback Energy leading, Utilities also see gains

In afternoon trading, Energy stocks are up 0.9%, with APA Corp (APA) and Diamondback Energy, Inc. (FANG) leading the sector with gains of 3.4% and 2.6% respectively. The Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) is also up 0.9% but down 6.01% year-to-date. In the Utilities sector, Eversource Energy (ES) and Duke Energy Corp (DUK) are up 1.1% and 0.4% respectively, with the Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLU) down 0.6% for the day, but up 2.80% year-to-date. Overall, Energy is the best performing sector, while eight sectors are down on the day.
