West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. announced positive results from their 2024 regional surface mapping, geochemical sampling, and core re-logging program at the Rowan Property in Ontario, Canada. The program included 50 diamond drill holes totaling 16,830 meters of drill core, with 3,070 samples collected to update mineralized domains and refine mineralized structural trends.

Geochemical data integrated from till sampling campaigns in 2023-2024 defined the main mineralized structural trend at Rowan, constrained by potassic alteration and Ag-Cd-Zn loading. Two new till anomalies were identified at Rowan, aligning with the main regional shear. Areas northeast and southwest remain highly prospective for expansion and discovery.

Vice President of Exploration, Will Robinson, noted that the 2024 exploration program at Rowan achieved key objectives in advancing understanding of geological controls on mineralization. The detailed deposit-scale 3D geologic model and newly defined target areas at Rowan will be crucial for future drilling programs. The till sampling program successfully identified high-caliber gold-in-till anomalies at Big Bend and Apex.

The till sampling program in 2023-2024 saw a total of 1,328 samples taken, with 984 samples prepared in the lab and sieved to -63 µm. Twelve samples returned with insufficient material for analysis, attributed to sand-rich till or shallow subcrop. The program ensured the required volume of material was collected for analysis, with an acceptable failure rate of 1.2%.

Rowan Mine hosts an NI 43-101 Indicated resource of 195,746 ounces of gold at a grade of 12.78 g/t Au, with an Inferred resource of 115,719 ounces at 8.76 g/t Au. Mineral resources are estimated at a cut-off grade of 3.80 g/t Au and a gold price of US$1,800/oz.
