The World Bank has added four top executives, including Bayer AG CEO Bill Anderson and Hyatt Hotels CEO Mark Hoplamazian, to its initiative addressing barriers to private sector investment in developing countries. President Ajay Banga launched the Private Sector Investment Lab to brainstorm ways to create more jobs in developing nations, emphasizing the need to bridge the gap between the young workforce and available jobs. The Lab’s priorities include regulatory certainty, political risk insurance, and securitization to drive investments that lift economies. The bank has already seen success in guarantee instruments and local currency financing to bolster investor confidence and deepen capital markets.
