Going to college is a rite of passage for many Americans, but only 38% of Americans over 25 are college graduates. A new report from Resume Now lists 13 high-paying, stable careers that don’t require a college degree and are resistant to AI. These jobs focus on human interaction and pay at least $50,000 annually.

The report addresses fears about the job market softening, the cost of college, and the value of a degree. Despite concerns about AI replacing jobs, many fields still require a human touch. Resume Now identified careers that need manual dexterity, creativity, and personal interactions, drawing on Bureau of Labor Statistics data for high-paying, in-demand jobs.

The list includes forest fire inspectors, flight attendants, lodging managers, electricians, plumbers, and industrial machinery mechanics, among others. These careers offer median salaries ranging from $56,430 to $71,420 annually. They resist AI replacement due to the need for human decision-making, manual labor, and personal interactions that AI cannot replicate.

Chefs, hearing aid specialists, personal service managers, maintenance workers, insurance sales agents, aircraft cargo handling supervisors, and security and fire alarm systems installers are also on the list. These jobs require skills that go beyond AI capabilities, ensuring job security and good income. Median salaries for these positions range from $56,430 to $71,420 annually.
