Optimism boosts South Korea shares with bounce higher in financials and automobile producers

The South Korea stock market bounced higher on Friday, with the KOSPI ending just above 2,625 points. Optimism over trade outlooks led to gains in financials and automobile producers, offset by weakness in technology and chemical sectors. The index rose 0.21 percent to finish at 2,626.87, with 578 decliners and 315 gainers. The global forecast for Asian markets is positive, following upbeat sessions in Europe and the U.S. Wall Street closed higher, with the Dow up 0.78 percent, NASDAQ up 0.52 percent, and S&P 500 up 0.70 percent. Crude oil futures also rose on Friday amid trade policy optimism, with WTI crude reaching $62.49 a barrel.
