Alnylam Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced positive results from the HELIOS-B Phase 3 study of AMVUTTRA for the treatment of ATTR amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy. The drug effectively reduces key cardiovascular events, including hospitalizations for heart failure. Urgent heart failure visits were reduced by 46% in the overall population compared to placebo. Results from the November 2024 data cut show vutrisiran’s effect on all-cause mortality and cardiovascular mortality. The risk of all-cause mortality was reduced by 36% and cardiovascular mortality by 33% in the overall population through 42 months. The study results were published in JACC.
