Azimut Exploration Inc. reports positive drilling results from the Fortin Zone at its Wabamisk Property in Quebec. The program included 51 diamond drill holes totaling 6,396 meters, supporting a future 10,000-meter drilling campaign. Antimony prices have surged to US$58,000 per tonne due to supply shortages. The drilling program followed up on a surface discovery in late 2024.
Of the 28 holes with antimony grades above 0.2% Sb, 15 also yielded gold intervals grading over 1.0 g/t Au. The mineralized system is hosted in a subvertical intrusive sill and metasedimentary rocks. The Fortin Zone has a strike length of 1.0 km and is open at depth. The antimony-rich system is unique in Quebec’s Archean settings.
Antimony is considered a critical mineral and is facing supply shortages due to export restrictions in China. Azimut’s Wabamisk Property is strategically located near major mining operations and infrastructure. The company is a leading mineral exploration firm with a focus on gold, copper, nickel, and lithium. The Elmer Gold Project and Galinée lithium discovery are key projects for Azimut.
The drilling program at the Wabamisk Property was conducted by Nouchimi-RJLL Drilling Inc. Samples were analyzed for gold, antimony, and a 48-element suite. Azimut applies industry-standard QA/QC procedures to its programs. The project is under the direction of Alain Cayer, Azimut’s Project Manager. Dr. Jean-Marc Lulin is the qualified person for the project.
Forward-looking statements in the press release highlight the risks associated with future events related to the drilling results. Factors such as market metal prices, regulatory changes, and operational risks could impact the project. The Company emphasizes the importance of detailed risk assessment and compliance with securities laws. Azimut is committed to providing accurate and timely updates on its exploration activities.
