Best-Performing ETF Areas of Last Week

Last week, Wall Street saw the S&P 500, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq all decline as investor concerns grew over the US fiscal deficit. Gold ETFs like GLD gained 4% due to rising safe-haven demand.

US debt levels have soared, with outstanding Treasuries rising to nearly $30 trillion and public debt as a percentage of GDP hitting 100%.

President Trump proposed 50% tariffs on the EU and threatened Apple with tariffs if they don’t manufacture iPhones in the US. Economic data showed growth, with business activity and jobless claims improving.

ETFs like URA and URNM saw gains last week due to Trump’s executive orders to boost uranium production. Volatility-based ETFs like VXX and VIXY also surged, while gold mining ETFs like AUMI and GOEX gained as gold prices rose.

Platinum ETFs like PLTM and PPLT saw increases last week due to improved metal prices and supply constraints. Cheaper than gold, platinum may see further gains in the near future.
