Cadillac's EV lineup, including Escalade IQ, is attracting new customers, including Tesla owners.

Cadillac’s all-electric vehicle lineup, including the 2025 Escalade IQ luxury SUV, is attracting new buyers, with nearly 80% of customers being new to the brand. Around 10% of these new customers are trading in their Tesla vehicles for a Cadillac, up from prior levels. Tesla is facing declining sales and boycotts amid Elon Musk’s support of Donald Trump.
Cadillac aims to increase its conquest rate for Tesla customers with its expanding EV lineup, which includes models like the Optiq, Lyriq, Vistiq, and Escalade IQ SUVs. Despite some success in luring Tesla owners, there is room for improvement, as no Tesla vehicle is in the top 10 of cross-shopped Cadillac EVs. Edmunds reports that Tesla owners are not necessarily cross-shopping against their vehicle when looking for a new one.
Cadillac’s target this year is to become the bestselling luxury EV brand, excluding Tesla. The brand is confident in its EV lineup and aims to lead the luxury EV market with models like the Vistiq SUV. The company is focused on building great Cadillacs that attract customers based on product merits, rather than political affiliations or controversies.
