The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia will be renamed the Xfinity Mobile Arena starting in September. The new name will be in place through the 2030-2031 season. Comcast Spectacor and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment announced the change, with no disclosed financial terms. Comcast will also own the naming rights to a new arena opening in 2031-2032. The current arena recently completed a $400 million renovation and will now feature Xfinity Mobile’s Wi-Fi service for fans. Comcast has seen growth in its mobile business, adding 323,000 mobile lines in the first quarter of 2025. This shift comes as the company focuses on expanding its mobile business amidst stagnant broadband customer growth. Comcast executives are doubling down on the mobile business as a source of financial growth. Cable companies like Comcast and Charter Communications are working to boost their mobile subscriber base through promotional offers and bundles. The move to attach the Xfinity brand to a major sports arena is expected to help elevate the brand and attract more customers.
