Currently, perpetuals are not allowed in the US and are traded on offshore exchanges like Binance. Binance has the largest trading volume, offering over 500 pairs with high leverage.

Mersinger mentions the recent procedural vote on the GENIUS stablecoin bill as a sign that cryptocurrencies are here to stay. She aims to position the US as a leader in this asset class. Mersinger will leave the CFTC at the end of May to join the Blockchain Association, advocating for the crypto industry.
