In early trading on Monday, Nike’s shares soared 7.2% making it the best performing Dow component for the day, although the company has lost 17.4% of its value year to date. Conversely, Travelers Companies saw a 2.2% decrease in its shares, making it the worst performing Dow component of the day, despite a 9.5% gain year to date. Other movers included Verizon Communications, down 2.2%, and Amazon.com, up 7.0%.
