Emirates airline posts record annual profit, reflects Dubai’s growth as aviation hub

Emirates airline reported a record profit of 19.1 billion dirhams, with 53.7 million passengers flown in the fiscal year. Despite delivery delays, the carrier plans to invest $5 billion in retrofitting 219 aircraft. The Emirates Group saw an 18% increase in annual profit before tax, paying a 6 billion dirhams dividend.
Airlines globally face delivery delays from Boeing and Airbus, affecting route expansions. Emirates managed 4% growth in passenger and cargo capacity, with 99 more aircraft added to the retrofit program. The airline will receive 16 A350s and 4 Boeing 777 freighters in 2025-26 to meet customer demand.
Chairman and CEO Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum praised Emirates Group’s resilience amidst challenges. The carrier’s strategic positioning in Dubai’s expanding long-haul hub contributed to its success. Despite industry challenges, Emirates remains a key player in global aviation, ensuring network connectivity with upcoming aircraft deliveries.
