Energy Transfer Signs 20-Year LNG Deal With Kyushu Electric For Lake Charles Project

Energy Transfer LP’s subsidiary, Energy Transfer LNG Export, LLC, has signed a 20-year LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement with Japan’s Kyushu Electric Power Company. This deal supports Energy Transfer’s Lake Charles LNG project and adds to recent agreements, totaling 7.0 million tonnes per annum of LNG. Under the agreement, up to 1.0 mtpa of LNG will be supplied to Kyushu. The pricing structure includes a fixed liquefaction fee and a gas supply cost indexed to the Henry Hub benchmark. Energy Transfer LNG President Tom Mason highlighted Kyushu’s first long-term U.S. LNG procurement deal, expected to boost supply stability and diversify sourcing. The project will be developed on an existing regasification site, utilizing Energy Transfer’s infrastructure and connecting to major gas basins. Energy Transfer LP is currently trading at $17.65 on the NYSE.
