FedEx appoints John Smith as CEO of FedEx Freight, the company’s freight trucking spinoff. Smith, with over 25 years at FedEx, previously led FedEx Freight and boosted revenue and income during the pandemic. The separation of the freight segment was announced in December 2024 for more operational flexibility. Analysts estimate the new company could be valued at $30-35 billion. The divestiture is expected to be completed by June 2026. Brad Martin to serve as chairman of FedEx Freight.
