FTC dismisses lawsuit against PepsiCo that was filed by Biden-era FTC

The Federal Trade Commission, led by Republican commissioners, dismissed a lawsuit against PepsiCo that accused the company of unfair price advantages for Walmart, citing the rarely enforced 1936 Robinson-Patman Act. The lawsuit was filed under the previous Democratic-led commission, which was supported by Chairwoman Lina Khan, who later resigned. President Trump fired commissioners Bedoya and Slaughter who supported the lawsuit. Now, FTC Chairman Ferguson deemed the lawsuit a “dubious partisan stunt” and stated that the staff had more important matters to handle. PepsiCo, headquartered in Purchase, New York, expressed satisfaction with the FTC’s decision and reaffirmed its commitment to fair pricing practices for all customers.
