Moody’s downward revision of the U.S. government’s credit outlook is impacting sentiment. The FTSE 100 is down 0.64% at noon, with several companies like Pershing Square Holdings and BP experiencing notable losses.

On the positive side, Fresnillo is gaining 1.8%, while Diageo Plc shares are up nearly 3% after announcing a $500 million savings plan. Ryanair is also up 4.7% due to strong summer travel demand.
