Halliburton unveils EarthStar 3DX resistivity service
From Yahoo Finance: 2025-05-19 10:41:00
Halliburton’s EarthStar 3DX offers a 3D horizontal look-ahead resistivity service for drilling, providing insights up to 50ft ahead of the bit. The ultra-deep sensor detects formations early, allowing operators to optimize well trajectories, maximize reservoir contact, and enhance hydrocarbon recovery while reducing risks and course corrections.
The service is a departure from traditional mapping technologies and emphasizes Halliburton’s leadership in reservoir mapping. By customizing subsurface and drilling solutions, the company aims to maximize asset value for customers. The EarthStar 3DX service enables operators to adjust well trajectories before encountering geological variations, improving placement and reservoir contact.
In a separate development, Halliburton and Rhino Resources completed exploration wells in Block 2914 within Petroleum Exploration Licence 85 offshore Namibia. Additionally, Halliburton and Sekal launched the world’s first automated on-bottom drilling system for Equinor in the North Sea. This system integrates Halliburton’s LOGIX automation and remote operations with Sekal’s Drilltronics solution to optimize drilling parameters and enhance well placement accuracy in real time.
