Harfang Exploration Inc. announces a new gold discovery at the Sky Lake Gold Project in Ontario. The Winter Drilling program yielded high-grade mineralized zones and confirmed the presence of a significant gold system. Initial results include 7.0 g/t Au over 18.0 meters and 2.0 g/t Au over 13.4 meters in hole SLA-25-03. The Company plans to process the second batch of results and follow up with a summer exploration program with close to $3 million in treasury.
Winter Drilling was conducted to test high-priority targets generated from historical drill data dating back to the 1950s. A total of 1,338 meters were completed in six diamond drill holes, with results from the first three holes released. The program focused on the Koval Zone and returned promising assay results.
The Koval Zone at the Sky Lake property revealed two high-grade gold zones separated by 75 meters across a shear zone. Hole SLA-25-03 intercepted multiple high-grade intervals, indicating the presence of gold mineralization associated with pyrite, pyrrhotite, and arsenopyrite. The mineralization and alteration patterns in the core samples reflect the potential for significant gold resources.
The Sky Lake property covers 9,100 hectares and lies between the past-producing gold deposits of the Pickle Lake Gold District. The area is known for orogenic-style structurally-controlled quartz veins and sulphide replacement zones near iron formations. The property benefits from nearby infrastructure, including highway access and power transmission lines.
Drill core samples were systematically logged, photographed, and split for assay in a QA/QC protocol. Samples were transported to AGAT Laboratories for analysis, with gold assays conducted using atomic absorption spectrometry. The Company acknowledges the traditional territory of the Mishkeegogamang Ojibway First Nation and commits to respecting their rights and culture.
Harfang Exploration Inc. is a mineral exploration company focused on discovering ore deposits in Québec and Ontario. The Company is led by an experienced team of industry professionals and maintains a portfolio of highly prospective projects. Forward-looking statements in this release are subject to significant risks and uncertainties, with actual results potentially differing from expectations.
