HII reported first quarter fiscal 2025 results, with revenues at $2.7 billion, net earnings of $149 million, and new contract awards totaling $2.1 billion, resulting in a backlog of $48 billion. Operating income increased to $161 million with a margin of 5.9%, driven by improved segment results compared to the previous year.
Segment operating income for Ingalls Shipbuilding was $46 million, with a margin of 7.2%, due to lower volumes in amphibious assault ships. Newport News Shipbuilding saw revenues of $1.4 billion, a decrease of $38 million, primarily due to lower volumes in aircraft carriers. Mission Technologies reported revenues of $735 million, with a segment operating income of $40 million and a margin of 5.4%.
