Kingfisher’s Q1 FY25/26 UK & Ireland sales up 5.9% amid favourable weather

Kingfisher, parent company of B&Q and Screwfix, reported Q1 sales of £3.31bn, up 1.6% on a reported basis. UK & Ireland sales rose 6.1% to £1.73bn, driven by B&Q and Screwfix’s growth of 7.4% and 4.1% respectively. E-commerce sales grew 9.3%, accounting for 20% of total sales.

CEO Thierry Garnier highlighted strong UK performance, with e-commerce and trade growth. France saw a 4.9% sales decrease, while Poland had a 0.4% drop. Full-year profit is expected to range from £480m to £540m, with no significant impact from potential tariff shifts.

Kingfisher sources most products from Europe and 20-25% from Asia. With a focus on growth priorities and shareholder returns, the company remains cautious about inflation and market demand. Operating 1,900 stores and employing 76,000, Kingfisher remains confident in delivering full-year guidance.
