Kongsberg Maritime secures a contract to deliver K-Sim Engine Room and Cargo Handling simulators to Capital Group’s new training facility in Greece on the island of Chios. The simulators will incorporate K-Chief automation systems and enhance crew training standards by offering practical experience with onboard automation systems. The delivery is expected to be completed by June 2025. Capital Ship Management emphasizes the importance of simulation training in crew development. The decision to award the contract to Kongsberg Maritime was influenced by Capital Group’s existing use of K-Chief automation systems. Kongsberg Maritime aims to support the maritime industry’s transition towards smarter, safer, and more efficient operations through immersive simulation technology and proven automation systems. In a separate development, Kongsberg Maritime recently obtained a contract to provide integrated equipment for Bibby Marine’s new fully electric offshore vessel, the eCSOV, scheduled for delivery in 2027.
