Mild Upside Seen For Singapore Stock Market

The Singapore stock market ended lower on Monday after financial, property, and industrial stocks saw losses. The Straits Times Index closed at 3,876.20, down 0.56%. Global markets are cautiously optimistic, with European and U.S. markets slightly higher. In the U.S., major averages barely rose after Moody’s downgraded the U.S. debt rating to Aa1 from Aaa. The Conference Board reported a slump in leading economic indicators for April. Crude oil prices saw a slight increase to $62.66 per barrel after an outlook for increased demand from Goldman Sachs.

Overall, markets are rangebound with a slightly positive outlook on trade.
