Nike to increase prices on footwear, apparel amid tariffs
From CNBC: 2025-05-21 16:38:00
Nike is set to raise prices on a range of products due to the impact of import tariffs imposed by President Trump. Prices for adult apparel and equipment will increase between $2 and $10, while footwear priced between $100 and $150 will see a $5 hike. The price increases will take effect by June 1.
Children’s products and items under $100 will not see price increases, as Nike aims to be considerate of families’ financial challenges. The Air Force 1 shoe will remain $115, while Jordan brand apparel and accessories will not see increases, but Jordan sneakers will. Nike stated that pricing adjustments are part of seasonal planning.
Nike manufacturers about half of its footwear in China and Vietnam, both of which have been impacted by Trump’s tariffs. The company is expected to see a hit to its profit margin due to the tariffs, which have led to the need for price increases. The price hikes will be reflected in the MSRP rate at Nike stores and online.
