Noodles & Company plans to close up to 21 restaurants in 2025, per its first quarter earnings report. The Colorado-based chain will shutter 13 to 17 company-owned locations and four franchised ones. It aims to open two new company-owned spots this year, with 380 current company-owned and 89 franchised restaurants. The company did not disclose which locations will close.
In other news, Starbucks employees are protesting the company’s dress code, prompting walkouts. Meanwhile, McDonald’s is bringing back Squishmallow Happy Meal toys for a limited time. Noodles & Company, founded in 1995, offers a noodle-centric menu featuring dishes like mac & cheese, pad thai, and Japanese pan noodles. Recently, the chain introduced new mac & cheese varieties and salads.
