Nvidia Unveils NVLink Fusion To Integrate Third-Party CPUs With Its AI GPU Ecosystem

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang introduced the “NVLink Fusion” program, allowing non-Nvidia CPUs and GPUs to connect using NVLink technology for customized AI infrastructures. Partners like MediaTek and Marvell will utilize this program to improve performance and flexibility in AI data centers, challenging competitors in the market.
Although Nvidia’s NVLink Fusion may decrease CPU demand, it enhances GPU competitiveness, solidifying Nvidia’s position in AI computing. Despite competitors like Broadcom, AMD, and Intel not joining the ecosystem, Nvidia’s strategic move aims to capture market share and become a central hub for next-gen AI systems.
On Monday, NVDA closed at $135.57, up 0.13%, on the Nasdaq Global Select Market. Trading after hours, the stock is at $135.54, down 0.02%.
