Pacific Seafood, a US-based fishing to processing and distribution business, has opened its first office in Europe in Hamburg, Germany, led by Stephan Kleemeyer, experienced in the seafood industry. The company currently supplies retail and foodservice channels in the EU and plans to invest more in fishing, processing, and distribution businesses. The expansion aims to strengthen partnerships and identify growth opportunities in the region.

Ashton Meier, vice president of processing for Pacific Seafood, confirmed the company’s European presence and product range including wild whitefish, coldwater shrimp, salmon, aquaculture products, and added-value offerings. Kleemeyer will lead business development in the EU to enhance partnerships and identify growth opportunities. The company’s Mission 31 strategic initiative aims to expand operations by 2031, with recent investments in Alaska and Florida.

Pacific Seafood acquired processing assets in Kodiak, Alaska, late last year, expanding its presence in seafood processing. The Kodiak operations process various seafood products like halibut, flatfish, rockfish, crab, herring, pollock, salmon, and Pacific cod. The company’s European expansion marks a significant step in its global footprint, with plans to deliver greater value to European partners.
