Guzman, a former Olympic swimmer, operates a Pokeworks location and will open a second in Mission, Texas. He aims to open ten stores within two years, citing Pokeworks’ strong brand performance, values alignment, and growth potential. The strategic growth extends to Houston with all franchise territories claimed.

Pokeworks co-founder Peter Yang praises the brand’s success in Texas. The chain achieved 11% same-store sales growth in March 2025. Founded in 2015, Pokeworks offers customizable, healthy options, including vegan and gluten-free, across 72 locations in the US, Taiwan, and Canada. The brand’s performance in Texas sets the stage for further growth nationwide.
