Pre-Market Futures in the Red to Start New Trading Week

Pre-market futures are down this hour, with major indexes showing a decrease of half a point to a full percentage point. The Dow is -225 points, the S&P 500 is -40, and the Nasdaq is -185 points. Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway announced his retirement, with Vice Chair Charles Abel taking over next year. Shares dropped 2.5% in pre-market trading.
Tyson Foods reported Q2 earnings, beating earnings estimates at 92 cents per share but missing revenue estimates by 0.18%. Cummins Inc. also had a strong Q1, surpassing earnings estimates by more than 23% and slightly beating revenue expectations. Both companies are seeing fluctuations in stock prices following their earnings reports.
Today’s stock market will see final prints on S&P Services PMI and ISM Services, expected to slightly decrease but remain above the growth threshold. Earnings reports from Ford, Clorox, and Lattice Semiconductor are expected after today’s close. Berkshire Hathaway, AMD, Walt Disney, and Coinbase are among the companies expected to report earnings this week.
