The PY-3 offshore field in the Cauvery Basin has restarted crude oil production after 13 years. Phase I of the revised field development plan (FDP) by ONGC, Invenire Petrodyne, and Hardy Exploration led to this milestone. The joint venture partners hold varying interests in the field and plan to enhance production with new wells and EOR techniques. The FPSO vessel Svetah Venetia processes and stores the oil, which is then offloaded to refineries. The successful production resumption was hailed as a significant achievement by the JV partners. Invenire Energy Group’s Maheshwari highlighted the importance of this milestone for energy security in India. ONGC has also partnered with bp to increase production at the Mumbai High oilfield.
