Qiagen reports rise in Q1 profit, plans dividend and $500 million share repurchase

Qiagen N.V. reported a rise in first quarter net income to $90.76 million, with earnings per share at $0.41. Adjusted earnings per share were $0.55, exceeding analysts’ expectations. Net sales for the quarter increased to $483.46 million, also surpassing analyst estimates. The company plans to propose an annual cash dividend at the next Annual General Meeting and seek shareholder authorization for a $500 million share repurchase. For the second quarter, net sales are expected to rise at least 5% and adjusted earnings per share to be at least $0.60. For 2025, net sales are reaffirmed to rise about 4% and adjusted earnings per share to be about $2.35. Stephen Rusckowski is set to succeed Lawrence A. Rosen as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Elaine Mardis will not stand for re-election. The Supervisory Board will consist of eight members following the AGM, reflecting a plan to streamline its size.
