Tecan reports decrease in Q1 revenues, but maintains full-year outlook with new products

From GlobeNewswire: 2025-05-12 00:30:00

Tecan Group provides a qualitative update on their first quarter performance in 2025, reporting a decrease in revenues in the mid-single-digit percentage range due to timing of customer orders. They confirm their revenue outlook for the full year, expecting a low single-digit percentage decline to a low single-digit percentage growth. Tecan also announces new products and partnerships in both their Life Sciences and Partnering Business segments.

Despite challenges in the US and China markets, Tecan maintains their revenue forecast for 2025. They expect moderate revenue declines to stabilization in different customer segments. Tecan confirms their EBITDA margin forecast and aims to return to average organic growth rates in the mid to high single-digit percentage range in local currencies under normal market conditions.

Tecan addresses potential impacts of reciprocal tariffs announced by the US government, estimating limited effects on the company due to localized production facilities and mitigation measures. They anticipate possible impacts on EBITDA in Swiss Francs if higher tariffs take effect. Tecan will fully implement mitigation measures to assess and potentially update their profitability forecast accordingly.

Tecan highlights the launch of Veya™, a multiomic liquid-handling workstation, and expansion of their diagnostics portfolio through acquisitions and partnerships. They continue to strengthen customer relationships and project pipelines in their Partnering Business segment, securing manufacturing contracts and expanding existing collaborations. Key upcoming dates include the release of the first half-year report in August and a qualitative update for the third quarter in October 2025.
