Retired artist Ed Suman lost over $2 million in crypto after falling for a Coinbase support scam. Suman, 67, had 17.5 BTC and 225 ETH in a hardware wallet. Scammers posing as Coinbase staff tricked him into revealing his seed phrase, resulting in the loss of all his funds. Coinbase suffers data breach, affecting 1% of users. Attackers bribed support staff in India to access sensitive info, including names and transaction history. Venture capitalist Roelof Botha was impacted, but funds were not accessed. Coinbase plans to pay up to $400 million in remediation and reimbursement to affected users.
