Robinhood is acquiring Canadian crypto firm WonderFi for C$250 million in an all-cash deal, marking a 41% premium to its previous close. The move is part of a trend in the crypto industry, with other major acquisitions like Coinbase’s $2.9 billion purchase of Deribit. Robinhood previously bought Bitstamp for $200 million. WonderFi’s brands include Bitbuy and Coinsquare, with over C$3.57 billion in crypto trading volumes in fiscal year 2024. Its stock has declined 13.6% on the Toronto exchange in 2025, but its employees will join Robinhood. The interest in crypto remains high, with bitcoin prices rising despite economic uncertainty.
