Roblox raised its annual bookings forecast and beat quarterly estimates, showing resilience amid economic uncertainty from U.S. tariffs. Shares rose over 4%. The platform targets older players with new game genres to boost in-game spending. Analysts believe its free-to-play model could offset a broader consumer spending pullback. Bookings are now expected to be between $5.29 billion and $5.36 billion for the year. In the first quarter, bookings rose 31% to $1.21 billion, beating estimates. Average daily active users reached an all-time high of 97.8 million, with engagement rising 30%. Roblox’s strong engagement and Gen Z user base have allowed it to break into the advertising market. Analysts suggest it will need to rely more on its existing model for growth amid advertising challenges from Trump’s tariffs.
