Rocket Lab: Earnings Miss But Neutron Momentum Holds

From Nasdaq: 2025-05-12 07:45:00

Rocket Lab USA (NASDAQ: RKLB) reported its first-quarter 2025 results on May 8, with the stock remaining flat but down 9% year-to-date. Revenue was $123 million, up 32% year-over-year, but the company posted a loss of $0.12 per share, wider than expected.

Rocket Lab’s Neutron program remains pivotal for growth, with the inaugural launch on track for the second half of 2025. The company also secured a $5 million task order for future missions and signed a contract with the U.S. Air Force for a Neutron launch in 2026.

Despite a deeper-than-expected EPS loss, Rocket Lab’s strong backlog of $1.067 billion and successful Electron launches showcase solid execution. The company’s acquisition of Mynaric is expected to enhance its product offerings in defense and space communications, positioning it well for long-term success.
