Shell plc is facing new legal action from environmental organization Milieudefensie, accusing the company of violating Dutch law by investing in new oil and gas projects despite a previous court decision requiring emissions reductions. The legal action against Shell stems from a historic 2021 court ruling that found the company partially liable for climate change and obligated it to reduce CO2 emissions.
