Solaria secures $106m for 175MW Spanish renewable energy project

European renewable energy developer Solaria secures €93.5m financing from Banco Sabadell for its 175MW Oliva solar project in Guadalajara, Spain. The project aims to provide 100% renewable energy for 84,000 households annually. The funds will support the construction of five photovoltaic plants in the region.
Solaria’s Oliva project includes self-sufficient data centers with a guaranteed 70MW capacity. CEO Darío López expresses gratitude for Banco Sabadell’s confidence in the company. The project aligns with Solaria’s commitment to sustainable digitalization and energy transition, essential for societal progress and environmental conservation.
The Oliva solar project, located in the Usanos district of Guadalajara, received administrative construction authorization in May 2024. Solaria plans to create 700 jobs during the project’s construction phase, prioritizing local employment. This initiative is part of the company’s efforts to promote the energy transition in the region.
Solaria’s Oliva project will consist of five photovoltaic plants, named Oliva solar 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, with capacities ranging from 25MW to 50MW. The project will be connected to the Daganzo substation in Guadalajara, showcasing Solaria’s dedication to renewable energy development and sustainable practices.
In January 2024, Solaria obtained administrative construction authorization for its 595MW Garoña photovoltaic project in Spain. This achievement further solidifies Solaria’s position as a key player in the renewable energy sector, contributing to the country’s energy transition goals and sustainable development initiatives.
