South Korea exports fall as tariffs hit US, China shipments

South Korea’s exports dropped 1.3% in May to $57.27 billion, the first decline in four months, due to falling shipments to the U.S. and China amid global trade conflict triggered by Trump’s tariffs. Exports to the U.S. fell 8.1% and to China by 8.4%, while semiconductor exports rose 21.2%. Imports also fell 5.3%, creating a $6.94 billion trade surplus.
