Leading healthcare organizations globally are leveraging AI, robotics, and digital twins to enhance surgery precision, workflow efficiency, and medical diagnoses. Challenges like hospital overcrowding and workforce shortages are driving innovation in Taiwan. At COMPUTEX, NVIDIA showcased collaborations with top medical centers to integrate smart hospital tech and AI solutions to save lives.
CGMH in Taiwan is pioneering AI-powered medical imaging with solutions for colonoscopy diagnostics. Using NVIDIA platforms like Holoscan and IGX, CGMH is enhancing surgical precision and workflow efficiency. These AI tools provide real-time identification and classification of colonic polyps, improving diagnostic accuracy and throughput at scale.
Cathay General Hospital in Taipei has developed an AI-assisted colonoscopy system with Onyx and aetherAI. Using NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier, the system detects lesions and hard-to-spot polyps with high accuracy. Studies show up to 95.8% accuracy and improved adenoma detection rates by 30%, aiding physicians in making informed treatment decisions for better patient outcomes.
NTUH in Taiwan is using AI imaging to detect liver tumors and cardiovascular risks more rapidly and accurately. The HeaortaNet model automates CT scan segmentation of the heart and arteries in 3D, significantly reducing data processing time. Additionally, NTUH has developed a diagnostic-assistance system for liver cancer detection during ultrasounds, improving early tumor detection and reliability with AI.
TCVGH in Taipei is streamlining medical imaging and clinical documentation workflows with AI. Partnering with Foxconn, TCVGH is using AI to analyze medical images for early breast cancer detection. Foxconn is also developing smart hospital solutions like the AI nursing robot Nurabot and using NVIDIA Omniverse to create digital twins of hospital environments for training service robots to improve care efficiency.
TCVGH has deployed the Co-Healer system, integrating agentic AI to streamline clinical documentation processes. Built on the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX module, Co-Healer processes and summarizes medical documents, providing instant access to nursing guidelines and patient-specific protocols. These advancements in AI are helping healthcare workers alleviate burnout and improve patient understanding of diagnoses.
