The FDA approved Teal Health’s at-home cervical cancer screening test, the Teal Wand, making it more accessible. The precision of the self-administered test is comparable to in-office screenings, with a 96% accuracy rate. Teal plans to launch the wand in California in June and has had discussions about insurance coverage.
Teal Health raised $10 million in funding to ramp up production for the Teal Wand launch. Investors are showing increased interest in women’s health tech, with $680 million invested in the space last year. Femtech saw 41% growth from 2023 to 2024, outpacing overall health tech at 10%. Interest in women’s health tech is expanding beyond maternity and menopause.
