Texas Governor Greg Abbott supports a bill passed by the state House to establish a strategic cryptocurrency reserve. The bill, SB 21, awaits Abbott’s decision after being introduced three months ago. Abbott aims to make Texas a “crypto capital” by 2024. New Hampshire and Arizona have already signed Bitcoin reserve bills.

President Trump signed an executive order for a “Strategic Bitcoin Reserve” and “Digital Asset Stockpile” in March. Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis introduced the BITCOIN Act to support this. The bill is currently with the Senate Banking Committee. The Senate is expected to vote on regulating payment stablecoins before considering the BITCOIN Act.
