U.S. companies borrowed 4.4% less for equipment investments in April compared to the previous year, as reported by the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA). Despite a slight easing in demand, new loans, leases, and lines of credit totaled $10 billion in April. The credit approval rate reached 77.4%, the highest level in over two years. The ELFA CapEx Finance Index, based on a 25-member survey including major companies like Bank of America and Caterpillar, indicates positive leasing and finance activity. The Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation reported a confidence index of 44.5 for May, signaling a positive business outlook.
