Volaris sees increase in revenue passenger miles, but decrease in load factor for April

Mexican carrier Volaris (VLRS) saw a 16.9% increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for April. The load factor dropped to 81.6% due to a smaller increase in traffic than capacity. Domestic RPMs and ASMs rose 12.9% and 17.1%, while international markets saw a 12.2% RPM increase. Volaris transported 2.6 million passengers in April, up 14.8% year over year.

Ryanair Holdings (RYAAY) reported a 6% year-over-year increase in passengers for April, totaling 18.3 million. The load factor was 93%, higher than the previous year. Volaris currently holds a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell), while Copa Holdings (CPA) has a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
